This was our first experience booking with Apple Vacations and we were very pleased! There were apple representatives to greet us at our departing and arriving airport as well as at our resort to give us details about Punta Cana and excursion options. Grand Palladium was an excellent resort! We went as a couple, but this might be a resort you would pick to go with family or friends. There weren't too many people who were there just as couples. This isn't something that bothered us, but if it is something that would bother you then you may want to look into a different resort. The buffet's offered good quality food and had many different varieties. My boyfriend is very picky and he was very satisfied with the food options. If you want to eat at a restaurant be sure to get there early as they fill up quick! Make reservations for the japanese restaurant the day you arrive at the resort if you plan on eating there. We were disappointed when we were not able to make a reservation because it books up so quick and we had no idea. One complain I have is about the maid service. We wen't out for dinner one night and when we returned to our room at about 9:30 the room to our door was open. There was a maid inside of our room cleaning. To me this was definitely not ok since there was already a maid in our room earlier in the day to clean our room. I was a little thrown off by this. Also a few times in the morning a maid would knock on our door, barely gave us enough time to wake up, and would just walk in. After that we kept the top lock on our door so that wouldn't happen again. The maids should just be more courteous of people's privacy. The hotel staff and bar staff were excellent and very friendly, especially inside the sports bar. This resort is huge, so definitely plan some time to explore the resort and see all the different options they have to offer. We got lucky because our room was very close to one of the many pools as well as the beach. If you are looking for a fun place to stay that offers good food, excellent service, and a lot to do I would recommend staying here!

The property is beautiful, there was some construction going on but I appreciate the improvement. The Apple reps were great. The resort is big, that was good for our group. Plenty of room to explore and we were able to get rides most of the time. The rooms are nice, shower is poorly designed as I've read many say, but it was just an inconvenience, nothing major. Service can be spotty in the buffets but very good in the restaurants. It gets better after a few days when we became more familiar faces. We enjoyed the buffets with many things to choose from. The Steakhouse was our favorite restaurant. The beach is beautiful, clean white sand, clear blue water, the best I've seen. Overall a great trip, relaxing, no major problems to report, we would definitely go back!

Upon check in..the manager on duty wouldn't listen to me and I was trying to ask if an upgrade was available and what the price would be. There were 9 of us in our party and we arrived early so they weren't busy. As one of the rooms were not close to others we did ask for room change and a young lady did take care of that. But upgrade wasn't offered nor was I able to ask. He just wanted to hurry us off. The rooms were all good and we were please with the locations. However, I asked for specifics for my minifridge and even left a note in spanish to have only coca light, cerveza and agua. For 2 days still did not get my request. We finally caught the drink boy and explained to him what we wanted and he complied. However it was not on a daily basis. I was lucky if I even got one soda. Had to take from our other party's rooms. Rediculous for a simple request and I left him a tip which he gladly took on more than one occasion. Most of the staff is not friendly. We travel many times to resorts and I was appalled at how lax the staff is here. Pool service was horrible. No enthusiasm at all. We ordered from pool server (pina colada) not sure what we were given but def not a pina colada. No smiles just mopey all day. The bar staff was ok just depended on who was there. Ramon took care of us several times and was always friendly. The beach bar staff was the same. Just there no enthusiasm at all. The only place we ever felt wanted was the buffet..Nico was our morning waiter and he was always friendly and nice and so Mulena(Brazilian). The Brazilian steak house bar was amazing. Kelvin was exceptional. He went above and beyond for us so we went to see him every evening just to have some friendly service and drinks that were consistent. Mervyn, Freddie and Paul in Japanese restaurant were outstanding. They made us feel so welcomed and appreciated to be there. We loved being around them. They had wonderful personalities and always smiling. The rest of the staff could take notes from Kelvin, Paul Freddie and Mervyn. The mexican restaurant was very good. Horrible experience at the Italian. Service was extremely horrible as was the food. We ended up leaving. Couldn't eat the food. Couldn't even get our water filled. Upon leaving the blame was on the kitchen staff. No way was that the case other than the food be inedible. We took 7 people on this vacation that had never been to an all inclusive resort. Sad to say they may never go again due to the lack of service and bad food

We went as a group of 11 and from the very start the service was terrible. Starting from the airlines who lost one luggage and broke another. The transfer from the airport to the hotel was ridiculously long. We waited 2 hours on the bus. The resort was clean, beautiful and big which was great. The employees were not very friendly and at times very rude. The restaurant reservations was a joke, on average 1 hour wait. We even had a wait to get into a buffet. The beds were terrible, hard as a rock. The bathroom was very strangely done. We had a family of 3 and it made showering and going to the bathroom complicated because of the glass wall. Also the inside of the shower didn't have a door so it remained as a pool. The food was mediocre compared to other resorts we've stayed at. The best part of the trip was the beach. Punta Cana has great beaches and we love it there but this resort missed the mark.

We had asked for three rooms together on the ground floor and they were not able to accommodate either of those requests. Very confusing on making reservations at the restaurants they said you couldn't make reservations but if you had the hotel app you could make reservations. Very confusing. Th.. More>

We had asked for three rooms together on the ground floor and they were not able to accommodate either of those requests. Very confusing on making reservations at the restaurants they said you couldn't make reservations but if you had the hotel app you could make reservations. Very confusing. The thing we enjoyed was the high level of entertainment that was provided nightly with the two shows at the theatres. The staff was talented. We were impressed with the Pop group at the resort, especially Gasolina and Blue. They went above and beyond to accommodate the us at the shows both at the pool area and theatre area.


98% of the staff was good, 1% blah, 1% over the top muy excellente!

Our stay was fantastic and would love to give a shout out to Delvin that was so much more than a bellboy. He coordinated lots of things for us from late checkout to rides across the resort, tips on dealing with vendors, restaurant suggestions and activity schedules (since the app is not very good at all for schedules and locations). Rafi was the same at night, our go to for anything we needed while in the lobby. William at the palace pool bar was engaging and entertaining as well as knowing how to make a bunch of great drinks. Miguel and another guy (late night crew) in the sports bar were also very good. Jesus and alexander at the Palace lobby bar were also fantastic. The entertainment was good each night in the lobbies but the shows in theaters could be better timed so that you could see both rather than overlapping.

Grand Palladium is a winner

My partner and I arrived on 10/08/17 and were due to stay at the Palace resort. On arrival we were told we were being upgraded to the Royal Suites. The perks of which include a butler, butler service at the beach/pool, exclusive royal suites buggies, better wifi and exclusive access to the Royal Gourmet and French restaurants. Our room included a whirlpool bath, free digital safety box, huge bed and sitting room area with access to a more secluded pool. We were in block 56 room 35. We were impressed by the size and standard of our room and our maid (Loly) was amazing, coming twice a day so the bed was always made up and we had fresh towels twice a day. The mini bar is restocked daily too and includes snacks as well as a selection of beers, water and soft drinks. You can also have Cava and wine but at an additional cost. We took advantage of the royal concierge service and booked into all of the restaurants we wanted to try during our 2 week stay. This was a huge bonus as other guests are seated on a first come- first served basis, which can result in queuing for dinner (particularly at the steak house and Italian). We tried the Indian, Mexican, Japanese cooking show, Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Brazilian, Steak House, French, Gourmet and Palace Buffet and were impressed with the levels of service, choice and food in each. Our favourite was the French and Steak House yet we can honestly say we didn't have a bad meal in any. The buffet is nothing amazing and would quickly become boring if there were not other restaurants to try. However, we loved breakfast- particularly the waffles, pancakes and churros! Service was always prompt and we were always immediately seated. The drinks are also premium quality and we had Grey Goose Vodka at the pool bar plus other brands. The bar staff at the pool are amazing and the waiters/waitresses work tirelessly to ensure you're never without a drink. In the lobby in the afternoons you can also get a variety of milkshakes which were amazing! The resort itself is kept immaculately clean and there are always staff tending the gardens, lobbies and beach to keep them looking good and clean. Everyone greets you with a hola and seem genuinely happy to tend to customers needs. The Royal Suites area is adults only and therefore more relaxed so entertainment can be lacking, although live music occurs around the poolside and you can go into other areas of the hotel to enjoy activities such as water sports and even a foam party. The guests here have exclusive access to a private beach area (although it is actually a public beach) but it was never busy and we always secured a sunbed at any time of day. People do approach you trying to sell trips here, however we found if you're polite and have a chat with them but say no they are friendly and quickly move on- we never found this an issue. Entertainment in the evening however was a bit of a let down, but it depends what you're looking for. The theatre shows are in Spanish (understandably) which can make them difficult to follow for more international guests. The disco is open until 2 and again serves premium alcohol. The sports bar is 24hrs. There is a casino which hand out free bets, however as we were informed you are allowed to smoke inside, we never visited being non & ex smokers. The complex is huge but easy to navigate however you can use the train or buggy service to get around. There are shops on site but they are very expensive- wanting for a soft beach ball!! However we didn't need to buy anything as everything we needed we had even brought or was included in our room/stay. After reading some reviews we were worried that staff wouldn't speak English and that this could cause communication problems, however this is NOT the case. We found everyone to be friendly and always having banter and conversation with the guests- in Spanish, English, French and German! We can honestly say we did not have any issues with staff and over 2 weeks they get to know you and remember your drinks orders etc. Which is a lovely touch. The only criticism we had was that my partner and I were both poorly during our stay. We both had upset stomachs and did have to visit the onsite doctor due to us both getting an ear infection. The doctor was amazing and sorted us out straight away, however we firmly believe we picked something up from the swimming pool. When we spoke to our Rep, he confirmed that they do not put chemicals in the pools (being too harsh on the skin). As this is not what we are used to in the U.K. It did have a negative effect on us. I don't believe it was the food or cleanliness of the hotel which effects our stomachs as everything is cooked properly and immaculate. As both of us were seen and treated by the doctor we had to pay 00 dollars up front however that's what travel insurance is for! We were both giving an antibiotic injection, which took the earache away with 3 hours and then a course of antibiotics and anti inflammation tablets each. So I would proceed with caution if swimming underwater or putting your head under in the pool. All in all we had a fantastic stay and thank you to all at the Palladium for making it so enjoyable. We would love to return one day and I would be eager to stay in other Palladium resorts around the world! The Royal Suites is definitely a 5 experience.

Aggressive and threatening service from head of reception named "Williams"

Upon arrival, there was no hot water, no working jacuzzi and no working flush. Took them 5 days to acknowledge the complaint after spending 1-2 hours a day at the guest relations desk until we were subsequently provided compensation. The hot water issue was resolved after day 1 but other issues were not rectified. We wish to thank Cindy from guest relations who was great in all aspects of her service. Following this, we were informed by 4 different members of staff that we would not be charged for dry cleaning as it would be covered as part of our compensation but we were billed a substantial amount regardless. When we attempted to speak to the "head of reception - Williams" we were stunned at his mannerism. Williams instantly attacked us with threatening and aggressive behaviour. He caused us intense alarm and distress to a point where his behaviour would have been classified as a criminal offence in the U.K. Although majority of the staff were great during our stay, the degrading treatment received from the "head of reception" changed our whole perspective and we decided that we will not be revisiting this resort ever again. We will also be submitting a formal complaint and make our experience and treatment from "Williams" at Grand Palladium Palace widely known via social media and other methods. I would not advise anyone to book with Grand Palladium PALACE - there are many other resorts within the complex such as bavaro and royal suites which are just as great and you will not experience threatening and degrading behaviour from their members of staff.

This was my first time coming to this resort and I had a wonderful time. I'm so glad I had the pleasure of meeting Esphageti, he is so friendly, I felt welcomed everyday. He is such a great receptionist. If you come here you have to make sure to meet him you will feel welcomed and will have a great time with his company.

I stayed 5 nights at this resort during my honeymoon. We had a suite in the Grand Palladium Palace and it got us access to Grand Palladium Bavaro and Grand Palladium Punta Cana, all of them inside the same complex. To move around the complex you need to get on the cart that drives around the hotel, they always stop by the lobby and/or the restaurants. The beach in front of the hotel is nice but you can find better beaches around the island (I suggest San Juanillo beach), they have services and sillas in the sand so you can enjoy the beach at most. All the pools are great with pool bars and restaurants near them but you need to get there early in the morning or you'll have to seat on the floor. All the sillas and chairs are taken very early. The hotel has an immense leisure area including football (soccer) field, mini golf, gym and so many more that we couldn't enjoy them all. The hotel has a small casino, don't bother going there. The buffet restaurants have all options of dishes from different cuisines, there are 7 around the complex and they offer the same services, stick to one. Don't forget to visit the Sports Bar for snacks, hot dogs or to follow up your sports team. The specialized restaurants (asian, indian, brazilian, etc) form a long queue early in the evening, so be sure to get there early or make a reservation with the concierge (my agency gave me four reservations, check with yours). Ther really are worth it. The bedrooms are very neat, a large and very comfortable bed, the bathroom is big with tube, shower, hot and cold water, there's a hairdryer too. Our room was in a chalet and had a balcony with a view to the pool, try to get one of those. The service is amazing. Every staff is very polite and helpful, they will try to solve any of your problems and promptly give directions. When we got to the hotel the tube wasn't working and withou any difficulty they moved us to a better room. My only complaint about the hotel is all the vendors and salesman in the pool area offering you all types of tours, services, etc. By the end of the first day we were fed up and had to bear them until the end of the stay.
